The Texas Clipper - Dive 3

September 7, 2014

For our last dive on the Texas Clipper wreck the visibility didn't improve anymore. We were getting 20-30 feet in areas but most areas were still a murky 5 feet. There were still plenty of black jack fish and other schooling fish too.

We could even make out a boom on the ship that was used to put life boats in the water in case of emergency.

At the end of the dive we made our final ascent. A short hour long ride back to South Padre Island following by an ass numbing 6 hour drive back to Austin.

Given the conditions I can't honestly say it was worth the trip. But that's how it goes. It's just a roll of the dice. We could have encountered a whale shark, a pod of dolphins, or a gang of narwhals. Oh well...maybe next time!
