LCU

May 21, 2011

I'm back in Hawaii for the International Conference on Software Engineering to present a paper I published at the Cloud Computing workshop. But first things first, time to do some diving with the good folks at Island Divers.

It was a windy day so the waters were choppy. We picked the LCU as our first dive site, hopped in and muscled our way down the line in a fairly strong current. When we arrived at the LCU we dove underneath the wreck. Looks like somebody decided to liven things up a bit and hang a chandelier.

We started to make our way to the top of the wreck and as soon as we did we got a fish fly-by.

Towards the end of the dive while we were exploring the top of the wreck we came across a hairy hermit crab. I haven't come across such a hairy critter before so I took some pics.

After taking the pictures my air was getting low so it was time to surface.

P.S. I'd like to thank Aqua-Tek Scuba in Edmonton, AB for changing the battery in my Cressi EDY dive computer. It's a small thing but none of the other dive shops in Edmonton were willing to do it. Cheers.
