Northern Arch

January 18, 2020

The next morning we hopped on Northland Dive's live aboard boat the Sun Spy and headed for Poor Knights Islands. We had the most amazing weather and it was smooth sailing all the way there. Jacques Cousteau rated the Poor Knights Islands as one of the top 10 dive spots in the world and it lived up to the expectations. Our first stop was the Northern Arch.

The sea weed on walls of the arch are full of fish.

I got pretty close to this Porae. I like the distinctive long spine jutting out from its fins.

There were a number of moray eels that were even out in the open.

And of course there's passage through the Northern Arch itself.

A pretty good first dive on Poor Knights Islands! Off to the next site.
