Murky Dive Down Island Bay Snorkel Trail

March 5, 2022

It was a nice enough day above the surface but southerlies had made for a murky dive down Island Bay Snorkel Trail.

Zachary and I had to stick very close together as the visibility was only 2-3 metres at the most. Zachary found a paua shell to show off and then leave behind.

It took us a while to find but there were still some crayfish out in the murk.

Found a nest of live paua too.

After exploring the trail for a while we worked our way back to our entry point on the beach. After the dive I noticed this ship had come right into Island Bay. It's common to see ships off of the south coast but I can't recall having seen one come this close into Island Bay.
