Shark Reef Marine Reserve

August 25, 2022

Our final shark dives and final day of diving was with Beqa Adventure Divers. They had a significantly different style for feeding the sharks. We got the dive briefing on the way to the Shark Reef Marine Reserve.

It starts with a similar wall and arena setup but the depth is 30m. To start they actually hand feed fish heads to the sharks. They're hands and arms are protected by chain mail worn under their wetsuits.

After that, they feed the sharks from a wheelie bin.

Once the feed at that depth is done, the group heads up to 15m for another feed.

Finally the group ascended to 5m for the last feed of the dive. That meant we spend our entire safety stop (and more) watching sharks feed. I got stuck behind the guy doing the feeding, which meant I didn't get to see that much of the feeding but did get to see how they protected him while he did the feeding.
