A short boat ride away from Deep Water Cove we descended by Putahataha Island.
The site was just bursting with sea creatures, every direction I looked.
Sandagers wrasse
You could tell a lot of the wildlife was pretty used to scuba divers in the area.
Surgefish
Moray Eel
Leatherjacket
These goatfish were feeding off the bottom.

The scenery wasn't bad either.
Crevasse
The highlight of this dive was this close encounter with an eagle ray.

The surgefish are very playful to the point of pestering! When you're not looking, they'll come up and nibble on your fingers. It's pretty surprising the first time it happens.

I was positively blown away by everything at Putahataha Island.
